THE IMPORTANCE OF “ME” TIME

THE IMPORTANCE OF “ME” TIME

Did you ever see something in a shop, want it, and for whatever reason, not buy it? : Perhaps a book, a pair of shoes, or whatever. You felt that you could not spare the money that day, or were just indecisive.

When you arrived home you regretted the decision or the indecision. Next time you passed the shop, went in, and what you wanted was no longer there.

Did you ever not do something because “I am too busy”, like doing yoga, meditating, attending an important event or reading a special book?

You know that “I am too busy” is really an excuse. You can find time in the busiest day for a few minutes of silence to connect with the “inner You”, your higher self. We can all be more time efficient if we decide to be.

The three most important things in life according to Prahbu Darmayasa, Balinese spiritual leader, and co-founder of the Divine Love Society, are:

Health
Peace of Mind
Divine Love

He says that we ignore these “diamonds”.

It may not be your style but sometimes even the most “giving” person must put himself first. Make some “ME” time a priority, even five minutes a day, to be quiet and to look within, to listen.

If you only give, and never take for yourself, your life is out of balance. We all need balance.

Never again miss the rare opportunity to get what YOU need or want when you see it. It may never be offered again.

If it is important you, for once, put “ME” ahead of worrying that “But I should stay home to be with my partner today” or “I should not spend this money”, or “I don’t have time”.

These common thoughts / phrases will lead to lifelong regret of missed opportunity, and leave you out of balance and harmony.

ME time is your gift to your self to nurture your soul.

SPIRITUALITY – LOOK WITHIN

SPIRITUALITY – LOOK WITHIN

We live pressured lives, in unstable, unpredictable times. People carry more and more stress. There is no time to enjoy the essence of life.

We forget that the material things, which we work so hard for, do not make us happy in the long term, even if we feel rewarded by our efforts to achieve them, and in the pleasure of first ownership.

How do we find happiness? How do we speak the language of peace and love in a world where electronic communication has become so available?

Our minds are bound by prejudices and negative feelings. Where is a source of energy from which to take power from to cope with increasing demands?

It is time to look within our selves. The little voice within asks: Who Am I? What is my purpose on earth? How can the world become a better place? Why do some suffer more than others? Is there a God or a greater Force?

The answers lie in Spirituality – the key to recover and take control of our lives and to find peace, purity and love and the power to face challenges.

Peace brings equilibrium to the mind and allows it to flow with situations, not to fight them. We can recharge the batteries, the very Soul, the subtle invisible part of us, the spark, the life force which animates our bodies.

Within the soul lies peace, love, happiness, power and goodness, our essential qualities. We find these when we connect to our soul, and are then free to send these energies and qualities out into the world by our thoughts, words and actions.

When we connect internally with our soul we gain heightened perception and see people and situations as they really are. At this level we are no longer limited by culture, language, race and religion. We are all one. We are souls of one human family.

We can make this inward journey by experiencing quiet moments, being alone, being in nature and by regular meditation. We can empty the mind of the stresses and expectations of material happiness which society feeds to us, and bask in the natural treasures which we all have inside, the natural flow of love, happiness, peace and fortune. Reflect and find the answers within and allow the pure spiritual energy to recharge us.

Sankalpa of Paramahansa Satyananda

Sankalpa of Paramahansa Satyananda

I am an invisible child of a thousand faces of love, That floats

over the swirling sea of life, Surrounded by the meadows of the

winged shepherds, Where divine love and beauty, The stillness of

midnight summer's warmth pervades. Life often cuts at my body

and mind And though blood may be seen passing, And a cry

might be heard, Do not be deceived that sorrow could dwell

within my being Or suffering within my soul. There will never be

a storm That can wash the path from my feet, The direction from

my heart, The light from my eyes, Or the purpose from this

life. I know that I am untouchable to the forces As long as I

have a direction, an aim, a goal: To serve, to love, and to

give. Strength lies in the magnification of the secret qualities Of

my own personality, my own character And though I am only a

messenger, I am me. Let me decorate many hearts And paint a

thousand faces with colours of inspiration And soft, silent sounds

of value. Let me be like a child, Run barefoot through the

forest Of laughing and crying people, Giving flowers of

imagination and wonder, That God gives free. Shall I fall on

bended knees, And wait for someone to bless me With happiness

and a life of golden dreams? No, I shall run into the desert of life

with my arms open, Sometimes falling, sometimes

stumbling, But always picking myself up, A thousand times if

necessary, Sometimes happy. Often life will burn me, Often life

will caress me tenderly And many of my days will be

haunted With complications and obstacles, And there will be

moments so beautiful That my soul will weep in ecstasy. I shall

be a witness, But never shall I run Or turn from life, from

me. Never shall I forsake myself Or the timeless lessons I have

taught myself, Nor shall I let the value Of divine inspiration and

being be lost. My rainbow-covered bubble will carry me Further

than beyond the horizon's settings, Forever to serve, to love, and

to live As a sannyasin (monk, renunciate). Swami Satyananda Saraswati

Mind Body Soul Event, Vera, Almeria

Today was the first MIND BODY SOUL event at Valle del Este Golf Hotel, Vera, Almeria. Spain. It brought many healers, therapists and spiritual people together and there were good energies throughout the stands, talks and activities: tai chi, yoga and pilates.

Three people took advantage of my 20 minute reiki or massage which paid for the stand. The two who received Reiki did so for the first time, although one had seen Reiki given to her horse.

And I have arranged a massage exchange for next Tuesday, GREAT!

A follow up event is scheduled for 31 October 2010.
